What is Feng Shui?
Feng Shui (pronounced ‘foong shway’) literally means wind water. Feng is the Chinese word for ‘wind’ and Shui means ‘water’. Ancient Chinese philosophers observed that Qi energy is affected by the flow of wind and water. Water and wind (air) are the elements of life and prosperity.
Feng Shui is also known as “kanyu’ meaning the doors of heaven and earth.
Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese art of living in harmony with your environment. It focuses on the energy of the human body and its influences from the environment. Feng shui is the science of bringing together humankind and the environment in which we strive to find harmony and equilibrium. The aim of Feng Shui is to correct (or minimize) negative energy and to increase positive energy to create a balanced environment and hence improve many aspects of your life, including; health, wealth, career, relationship etc.
Why should we practice Feng Shui?
When creating a home with good feng shui our home will be a sanctuary. So that when we leave the home in the morning are feeling energized and rested, have a clear and focused mind and most of all they should be happy. These are the basic ingredients to equip a person for a successful day.
Coming home, when walking through the front door we should get a feeling of welcome, comfort and harmony. All occupants of the home should have the opportunity to reflect on the day with pride and joy. A home should provide a suitable and supportive energy for every member of the household.
The aim of Feng Shui is to create a space:
-
That is safe and protected
-
Where one can create ones dreams
-
Allowing a person to see their potential
-
Removing obstacles and creating a free energy flow
How do we know that our home has good or bad feng shui?
A house is like a picture album, it tells the story of the people living in it. A Feng Shui Consultant can read the story of a house. Would you like to know what story your house is telling?
- Is it a funny (comedy) story?
- A drama?
- An adventure story?
- A success story?
- A story of sadness and loneliness?
Like in a theatre when the scene of the play changes, the stage is changing. So should the feng shui in a home change to support the present moment.
In each of us is a creator, and Feng Shui is one of these practices that calls for this creativeness in each of us, to create our dream. |
